President al-Assad Sends a Cable of Condolences on Earthquake Victims to Pakistani President

Damascus, Oct. 29 (SANA) – President Bashar al-Assad sent on Wednesday a cable of condolences to the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari expressing in his name and in the name of the Syrian people deep grief over the earthquake that struck southwest Pakistan, extending condolences on the victims, and wishing quick recovery to the people injured during the earthquake.

A powerful earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale struck the Balochistan province north of the city of Quetta in Pakistan on Wednesday morning, claiming 160 lives, injuring dozens and destroying a large number of houses.
