Iraqi Cultural Days Kick Off on Saturday

Damascus, (SANA) – The Iraqi Cultural Days activities will kick off on Saturday at 9 PM at al-Azem Palace in Damascus as part of the "Damascus, Arab Capital of Culture 2008" festivities.

The Cultural Days will last six days, taking place in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama. They include theatrical performances, movies, poetry, lectures, art and cultural exhibitions, and displays of traditional Iraqi garments, in addition to musical performances of folk arts and music and an operetta performed by Iraqi singers.

The Iraqi Cultural Days event is organized by the Ministry of Culture as part of the Arab Cultural Weeks in Damascus, which aim to bolster the Arab cultural presence in the "Damascus, Arab Capital of Culture 2008" festivities, with 16 Arab cultural weeks taking place.
