Homs, central Syria, (SANA)- Information Minister Mohsen Bilal underlined that Syria has achieved a prominent political and diplomatic success during the recent visit of President Bashar al-Assad to France.

During opening ceremony of the 2nd Media Forum at Hosn Citadel in the Syrian central city of Homs within activities of al-Qal'a and al-Wadi Festival for Culture and Arts Friday , Bilal said: " Syria is an important country in the region and that the national unity enjoyed by its people and their commitment to the sovereignty and rights making her succeeded in holding the Arab summit."

Bilal pointed out to Syria's firm policy to continue the resistance till the restoration of the occupied Syrian Golan to the 4th of June 1967 line, rest of occupied Lebanese lands, the establishment of the Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital and the return of the Palestinian refugees to their home.

He stressed that Syria was and still one of the first countries which fought terrorism and she was the first  to call for convening an international conference to define terrorism and to distinguish it from the struggle of peoples in order to liberate their lands.

An open dialogue  was conducted by the participant journalists at the forum on issues of the region.
