Damascus, (SANA) – President Bashar al-Assad issued on Sunday six legislative decrees for regulating pharmaceutical studies in Syria, granting compensation to workers at the Ministry of Education, and adding 15,000 jobs to the Ministry's personnel.
The legislative Decree number 37 for 2008 stipulates for organizing pharmaceutical studies in Syria and placing legal, technical, moral and religious regulations for them.
It also stipulates for founding a committee for pharmaceutical studies, a scientific ethics committee, and a settlement and compensation committee.
Legislative Decree number 38 stipulates for granting workers at the Ministry of Education who hold a pedagogic rehabilitation diploma a 3 % bonus on their monthly salaries.
Legislative Decree number 39 grants workers in educational positions in remote areas of Syria a 20 % bonus on their monthly salaries while granting workers in semi-remote areas a 10 % bonus.
Legislative Decree number 40 grants workers at the Ministry of Education who hold the International Computer Driving License (ICDL) or an equivalent certificate a monthly raise of SP 500.
Decree number 226 for 2008 stipulates for founding 15,000 jobs at the Ministry of Education, making the overall number of jobs at the Ministry 360,743 jobs.
The Decree calls for founding 6,000 positions for teachers, 100 psychological councilors, 100 social councilors, 200 librarians, 5,000 elementary school teachers, 350 assistant department heads, 3,000 assistant teachers and 250 vocational school teachers.
Finally, Decree number 234 for 2008 defines monetary compensation per teaching period for part-time teachers working at state schools and training centers.
Teachers with specialized teaching licenses receive SP 120 per period, teachers with non-specialized licenses receive SP 100 per period, teachers with institute certificates receive SP 80 per period, and teachers not holding any of the aforementioned degrees receive SP 60 per period.
