Damascus, (SANA)-Prime Minister Mohammad Naji Ottri and Algerian counterpart Ahmad Ouyahia discussed here on Wednesday ways of further enhancing the joint cooperation and expand their prospects for the two countries' best interests in all economic, development and cultural fields.
Premiers Ottri and Ouyahia reviewed issues on the agenda of the joint Syrian-Algerian Higher Committee held in Damascus.
They also discussed mechanism of activating the agreements signed between the two countries and importance of reaching new agreements to further strengthen the process of Syrian-Algerian cooperation in different fields.
Later, the joint Syrian-Algerian Higher Committee started its works with a plenary session attended by the members of the two countries delegations.
Premier Ouyahia had already started a two-day official visit to Syria on Wednesday during which he will co-chair his country's side to the meetings in Damascus of the joint Higher Syrian-Algerian Committee in its first session.
Premier Ouyahia was greeted at Damascus International Airport by Prime Minister Mohammad Naji Ottri, and several cabinet Ministers and the Algerian Ambassador in Damascus and the Syrian Ambassador in Algeria. The Algerian Prime Minister was accorded an official reception ceremony where the national anthems of the two countries were played and the Algerian guest reviewed the Guards of Honor.
Premier Ouyahia is accompanied by an official delegation consisting of the Ministers of Trade, Higher Education and Scientific Research and other undersecretaries as well as an economic and technical delegation.
