Manama, (SANA) – King of Bahrain His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa affirmed on Wednesday the importance of the development and progress achieved in Syrian-Bahraini relations, underlining that President Bashar al-Assad is always keen on bolstering and developing these relations in all fields.

His Highness the King of Bahrain made the remarks in a meeting with Syrian Minister of Interior General Bassam Abdul-Majid, who relayed the best wishes of prosperity and progress from President al-Assad to King Hamad and the kingdom of Bahrain.

During the meeting, King Hamad stressed the need to develop cooperation and cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the field of security which would serve to bolster the stability of Syria and Bahrain.

The meeting was attended by the Ministers of the Royal Council and Interior of Bahrain, the General Chief of Security, the Undersecretary of Interior and members of the delegation accompanying Minister Abudl Majid.

Later, Minister Abdul Majid met with Bahrain's Prime Minister Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman AL Khalifa, who affirmed the importance of cooperation in the fields of security between Syria and Bahrain to support efforts for achieving joint Arab security.

Sheikh Khalifa pointed out to the standing level of cooperation between the two countries, stressing the importance of communications and intensifying visits between security officials in order to protect Arab national security, combat crime and terrorism and preserve the stability of the Arab nation.

In turn, Minister Abdul Majid affirmed Syria's commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation with Bahrain, underlining the high level of competence, readiness and technology achieved by Bahraini security authorities.

Minister Abdul Majid also discussed with his Bahraini counterpart Sheikh Rashed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa a number of issues related to bolstering cooperation and security cooperation between the two countries, with both sides expressing desire to expand cooperation fields.

The meeting was attended by the Bahraini General Chief of Security, the Undersecretary of Interior, Syria's Ambassador to Bahrain and the delegation accompanying Minister Abdul Majid.
