CAIRO, (SANA) _ Syria on Sunday, in an urgent request to the Arab League Secretariat General, demanded the inclusion of the unjust Israeli siege on the Gaza Strip on the agenda of Arab Foreign Ministers' s emergency meeting scheduled to be held in Cairo on Wednesday.
Syria's Permanent Representative to the League Yusuf Ahmed said: " The Israeli siege imposed on the Gaza Strip constitutes a crime against humanity and a violation of international laws and principles which requires an Arab serious stand and adoption of mechanisms needed to break the siege and face Israeli intransigence,"
Ahmed underlined the need for Arab countries to exercise pressure on the interested international parties to oblige Israel to stop its crime in Gaza before the eruption of the situation which transformed into a real humanitarian unprecedented catastrophe by testimony of the international relief organizations and bodies.
The Syrian Permanent Representative saw that talk on prospects of the peace process in the region after the latest meeting of the Quartet must stems from the fact that Israel is not serious at all in its claims on achieving peace.
" Who occupies others land, practices the ugliest collective crimes against defenseless people, despises their dignity and deprives them of their right to life can not be a serious party in the peace process." Yusuf concluded.
