Secretary of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party Branch in Deir Ezzor Dr. Riyad Hijab honored on Thursday Rasha al-Sheikh, the sportswoman who won the second position at the Arab Championship for persons of special needs in Egypt for the (67) kg weight.

Dr. Hijab congratulated Miss al-Sheikh overcome her body handicap by sports, and nominating her to represent Syria at Beijing Championship.

Miss al-Sheikh, who was infected by polio, played weights lifting when she was 16 years old and she had some participations at international and Arab championships where she gained advanced positions.
