Important Archeological Findings in Syrian City of Daraa

Dara'a, south Syria,(SANA)-The Syrian city of Daraa,120km south of Damascus, has 130 archeological sites which date back to ancient periods, including castles, theaters, amphitheaters, mosques, churches and groups of ancient houses.

Head of Daraa Department of Ruins Hussein Mashadawi stressed Wednesday that a lot of excavation works were performed by the local exploration team during this year in towns and villages of al-Taybeh, al-Nasseriyeh, Beit Ara and al-Kwayya.

He added that works of exploration unearthed some archeological findings , cemeteries, remains of mosaic paintings. He pointed out that the allocated money for these works during this season amounts to SP 700, 000.
